The main shrine where images of God's and goddesses were kept in the Chola temples of Dravidian style was known as garbhagriha.

Garbahgriha is the sanctum Santorum ,the innermost sanctum of Hindu temple where resides of the murti of the primary diety of temple.Means womb chamber.In Hinduism only priest is allowed to this chamber.
