Answer:

The answer is (a)  Pension

Explanation:

After the Indian Mutiny failed in 1857, the life of the Indian people in Delhi was full of hardships. It was very miserable for the Indian people because the British soldiers looted the entire city.

Ghalib faced great atrocities at their hands and he was worried not only for his family but all his servants and poor people who were dependent on him. All but his house, few clothes and bedding were looted.  His wife secretly sent some of the clothes to Kale Sahib’s house for safekeeping.

Under these circumstances, Ghalib did not expect to receive the pension which the British Government had previously granted him. He then started selling his clothes to buy food. He was worried that if this continued, he might have to leave Delhi and go elsewhere.
