Loona Bimberton was a woman of vanity. She had an adventure of travelling eleven miles with an Algerian aviator. She gained much popularity due to this adventure. But Mrs.Packletide was jealous of Loona Bimberton's popularity. So she wanted to do something more adventurous than Loona Bimberton . So she decided to hunt a tiger and gift the tiger skin to Loona Bimberton. She reacted very violently to Loona Bimberton's popularity.

- In "Mrs. Packletide's Tiger " , the famous short story writer Saki laughs at the pretensions, affections, hypocrisy and competitive rivalry of the ladies of high class like Mrs. Packletide and Loona Bimberton. Mrs. Packletide can go to any lengths and pay any price to outdo her rival Loona Bimberton. Her efforts to outshine her rival by shooting a tiger turned out to be a misadventure.
