Maulana Azad was completely in favor of the Muslim University. He wanted Muslims to get an education and compete with the British.

He also started publishing a journal named "Al-Hilal" to promote communal harmony among the local masses.

He propagated revolutionary ideas to harmonize Muslim communities. He also proposed the idea of shifting the Aligarh university campus to Delhi.
