Mazzini believed that Italy could no longer be a collection of many different small kingdoms and countries. It had to be forged in to a country with a wider alliance of nations. He setup many underground societies, Teamed up with Garibaldy, and Cavour and unified Italy

Understanding the concept :
- Mazzini organized a new political society called Young Italy. Young Italy was a secret society formed to promote Italian unification: "One, free, independent, republican nation."
- Mazzini believed that a popular uprising would create a unified Italy, and would touch off a European-wide revolutionary movement.
