Ugly scenes, hooliganism and violence were witnessed at a meeting of the general house of the District Bar Association (DBA) held in the Bar room of the old courts complex here where the dissidence of two factions came to the fore.

Allegations and counter-allegations flowed freely over the withdrawal of voting rights to lawyers belonging to others cities, who were given this right when they had no Bar Association in their cities.

The meeting was adjourned by the president of the DBA after a chaotic situation developed due to violence. Some Press photographers were also manhandled when they tried to click photographs of the ruckus at the meeting.
