In India, almost every citizen recognizes 26 January as Republic Day. However, very few know about another reason why this date is significant. Exactly 20 years before our first Republic Day, on 26 January 1930, the Indian National Congress, in an electrifying resolution, declared Purna Swaraj.
Hence this day was recognized as The Purn Swaraj day all over the country.

Purna Swaraj Or swashan was observed and demanded by Pt. Nehru in Lahore adhiveshan (Summit) december 1929 and then they celebrate first purna swaraj day 26 jan 1930
