Rowlatt Acts, (February 1919), legislation passed by the Imperial Legislative Council, the legislature of British India. Theacts allowed certain political cases to be tried without juries and permitted internment of suspects without trial.

Rowlatt act was an Act that were introduced in the Central Legislature in February , 1919 and the Act was passed on March the same year.

The Act allowed the Government to imprison any person without trial in court and without warranty.

This was done to curb the growing upsurge in the country.

The Rowlatt Act included :

1. Arrest of any person without any warrant .

2. Suspension of freedom of movements .

3. Right to habeas corpus suspension.

4. In camera trial .
