Answer:

On March 12, 1930 Mahatma Gandhi began the historic march from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, a village on the Gujarat sea coast. A number of people followed him. On the morning of 6th April, Gandhiji violated the Salt Laws at Dandi by picking up some salt left by the seawaves. Gandhiji's breaking of the Salt Laws marked the beginning of the Civil Disobedience Movement.

Hey mate,

Here is the answer for your question..

The Salt March, also known as the Salt Satyagraha, Dandi March and the Dandi Satyagraha, was an act of nonviolent civil disobedience in colonial India led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The 24-day march lasted from 12 March 1930 to 6 April 1930 as a direct action campaign of tax resistance and nonviolent protest against the British salt monopoly.

When Britishers start to collect tax for salt, the common people is not able to pay that , and salt is a thing which is used by everyone, middle class, lower class and upper class. So it is not fair to collect heavy tax on this. So Gandhiji and his 72 disciple marched to Dandi and they make salt there on. It is a glorious movement in Indian history, and an adorable movement which lead to independence. Many such movements had resultant for the In dependence of our country.

Hope this answer can helps you dear...☺
