Sati Pratha is a Pratha that was followed by Indian in earlier times in this Pratha if the husband of a woman dies then the woman have to be get burnt even if she is alive and not old. She have to get burnt in the fire and the women who does this were know as sati.

in sati pratha when the husband of women watch dead the woman became widow .



when people burn the dead body of husband the widow of dead body should also sit in funeral pyre thus she did suicide ...it was known as SATI pratha..
