SIMON COMMISSION :

Simon Commission was a team of 7 members came from Britain.

• It came to India in 1928 through the prime minister's order.

• The aim of Simon Commission was to check the conditions of Indian Government and recommend some new policies.

• It was first came to India in the name of Statuatary Commission.

• But Indians called it as Simon Commission because, the head of this team was sir John Simon.

• But this Indians started opposing this Commission and wanted to cancel this.

• Because, there were no Indians in Simon Commission.

Hence, leaders like Tilak started movements against this Commission.

• The famous slogan used against this Commission was "Simon go back".

• Though, this Commission made some recommendations in Indian government.

Simon Commission was one of the reasons for launching Civil Disobedience movement by Gandhi.
