what was simon commision ? why he came to india

The Simon Commission was a group of 7 MPs from Britain who was sent to India in 1928 to study constitutional reforms and make recommendations to the government. The Commission was originally named the Indian Statutory Commission. It came to be known as the Simon Commission after its chairman Sir John Simon.

Simmon commission came to India in 1927 to generate a report on how well the 1919 Government of India Act was working .

The Government of India act established the new Indian constitution and Great Britain appointed British officials to the Simmon commission in order to over see the effectiveness of the constitution.
