It was hard to make him independent and keep him out of depression.
- The question has been asked from the story Attitude is Altitude
- When nick was born he only had a torso. The absence of arms and legs in their infant startled both parents.
- His father fled the hospital room to throw up because he was so surprised. Until he was four months old, his upset mother was unable to bring herself to hold him.
- They were upset and concerned for his future. They were unable to comprehend how Nick would have a self-sufficient existence and deal with his risk of becoming depressive.
- However, his parents encouraged his independence from a young age. Instead of sending him to a special school where impaired children are catered to, they placed him in water bodies so he could handle himself and learn to swim.
- They also sent him to a regular high school to help him become independent. He also achieved a degree in Financial Planning and Real Estate
