The main aim of the movement was restoring the democracy.

Nepal is the one of the neighboring countries of India. In 2005, the newly elected King of Nepal was dismissed the democratically elected Prime Minister of Nepal, so the Nepal people began the movement to regain the democracy from monarchy.  

Lakhs of people protested against the monarchy and demanded the 'restoration of democracy'. Finally, the democracy was restored and Parliament enforced the new laws to take away the most of the King powers.
