britishers took no interest in the religious or any other matter which were related to Indians. They were not interested in the socio economical condition but were rather worried with the fact of using India's resources to its fullest and benefitting their own economy. Various instances such as use of beef skin in bullets etc. proved their negligence. But , for their own benefit and use they took religion as a serious matter. They used religion as a medium to target a group of people and also their famous tactic of divide and rule. British didn't believed to various customs and rituals and thus had no mercy in stopping that.
Summarising all of the above it could be concluded that britishers had a negative attitude towards religious beliefs if it was not of its use
