The basis of early classification were simple morphological characters to classify in trees herbs and sherbs and animals to which had red blood and those that did not.This classification was given by Aristotle.

●Then Linnaeus gave two kingdom and basis were presence or absence of cell wall,movement and locootmion and mode of nutrition.

●Then thress kingdom given by Ernst Hackel with kingdom protista.

●four kingdom by copeland with classification basis as single celled and double celled.

●at last five kingdom by whittaker and basis were complexity of cell structure,mode of nutrition,nature of cell wall,m ethod of reproduction, and evolutionary relatioshipns.
