The Anglo Mysore wars are a series of 4 wars from 1767-1799.
It was fought between Haidar Ali, Tipu Sultan and Brtish East India Company.

Causes: Mysore grown in strength under the leadership of Haidar Ali (1761-82)Tipu Sultan (1782-99) . They controlled the profitable trade of Malabar coast where company purchased cardamom.
So, the war began in 1758 . Tipustopped the export of sandalwood, pepper and cardamom and disallowed local traders from trading with the company. Thus, alot of revenue was lost and thus tipu sultan came into conflict with them.
Results: Tipu Sultan was killed in the Battle of Seringapatam. Mysore was placed under former ruling dynasty of the Wodeyars , and a Subsidiary alliance was imposed on it.
