Muhammad Ghori conquered Multan in 1175 A.D. But, he was defeated by the Rajput ruler, Bhimdev Solanki in Gujarat. In 1191, Muhammad Ghori advanced towards Delhi. The heroic Rajput princes under the leadership of Prithviraj Chauhan faced Ghouri. In this battle, Ghori had a narrow escape, but he did not lose heart.
