When South Africa overthrew British rule, Nelson Mandela asked for a pledge from the people of South Africa. He wanted that every one of the citizens must forget the past and bring in equality, instead of seeking revenge from the whites. He wanted the country to respect each and every religion that is followed by the citizens. He wanted a secular nation where there would be no official religion. He also supported Universal Adult Franchise i.e. one man one vote and one value.
