The condition of the untouchables in British India was very torturing . The people were harassed and tortured more to the extremes and left unhelped . Their condition was extremely poor . They weren't permitted to use of the amenities that prevailed. They were not allowed to go to places of worship, could not use wells used by higher castes, forced to serve the high castes and were not allowed to go to schools.
