Condition of women in France before the Revolution were:

1) The position of women in France was much inferior to men in social status.

Except for daughters of nobles and wealthier classes, most women had no access to education and job training.

2) Along with tending to the family and house many women of the Third Estate engaged themselves in small jobs-worked as seamstresses or laundresses, sold flowers or worked as domestics for a living.

3) The wages of women were lower than those of men.

4) They were passive citizens with no political rights whatsoever.

1. In society women were considered inferior to men. Except the women who belonged to the wealthier classes, most women had no access to education and job training.

2. The women of the Third Estate looked after their family and also did small jobs like working as a seamstress, laundress, flower sellers or as domestic workers to earn a living.

3. Women were given lower wages compared to men.

4. They did not have any political rights.
