1. the position of women in France was much inferior to men in social status.
2. along with pendings to the family and house many women of the third estate engaged themselves in small jobs worked as a stream stress or long dresses sold flower or worked as domestic for a living.
3. the wages of women wear lower than those of men.
4. They were passive citizens with no political rights.

All women were classified as passive citizens.
Women did not have the right to vote.
They worked as seamstresses or laundresses, sold flowers, fruits and vegetables or managed as domestic servants.
Their wages were lower than the men.
They looked after the children, did the cooking, fetched water and queued up for bread.
Most of the women did not have access to schooling or job training. Only daughters of wealthy parents could study at a convent, after which they were married off.
