he went to the andamans which was then held by the Japanese and hoisted the Indian flag there. In 1943 he declared the formation of the provisional government of independent India. He took help from Japan to organise anti- British revolt. He encouraged women to join INA. He formed the Rani jhansi regiment and captain lakshmi swaminathan was leading it.
