East India Company did not take any interest in education field but due to the pressure of Christian Missionaries and other humanitarians the Charter Act of 1813 forced the company to spend one lac on education sector.But there emerged few controversies.First was, whether there should be introduction of modern English education or traditional Indian education.Second was, medium of education should be English or vernacular languages.
