Kheda Satyagraha :
• Kheda is one of the districts in the state of Gujarat.
• The peasants in Kheda used to pay taxes to the British regularly.
• But in the year 1918, there occured a serious famine, crop failure and plague.
• Due to those reasons the peasants could not pay the taxes.
• The Britishers started forcing the peasants to pay the taxes.
• Then Mahatma Gandhi started his third Satyagraha movement called as Kheda Satyagraha against the Bristisher with other leader like Vallabhbhai Patel etc.
• The main demand of the peasants was to not to pay the taxes.
• Gandhiji supported the peasants and organised Satyagraha.
• This movement became successful as the Bristishers removed the taxes for one year.
