• Douglas had developed a dislike for water when he went to the beach first as a child in California. He was knocked down by waves that swept over him, he got submerged in mud and felt as if his breath disappeared.
• The frightful episode had tumbled down his events of fishing, canoeing etc. However, he was determined to overcome his fright and work towards it.
• Focused to surmount his water phobia, he got trained under an instructor and overcame this fear with resolute resolve, and courage.  He then became a good swimmer.
