It is Gangadhar Bhattacharya who is known to be the founder of the Bengal Gazette. James Augustus is known to be the father of the Indian Press.

The Bengal Gazette had attacked both Warren Hastings and Chief Justice E Impey.

This paper had criticized government policies, and hence the paper was closed in 1782.

Answer:

The full name of the weekly magazine published by James Augustus Hickey was Hickey's Bengal Gazette(not mentioned in NCERT textbook). It was a weekly magazine .

Gangadhar bhattacharya published Bengal Gazette which was a weekly newspaper.

Hickey's Bengal Gazette was much older than bhattacharya's published Bengal Gazette and it production was stopped after hickey's persecution. Hickey's Bengal Gazette was a private English enterprise.
