What was the difference in the approach of James Harriot and Mrs.Pumphrey towards Tricki?​

Mrs.Pumphrey always pampered Tricki .She fed him with chocolates , horlicks , cod liver oil , ....,etc .This led to Tricki's illness. He looked like a bloated sausage. She did not give him any physical exersises , So he started having bouts of vomiting .

While James Herriot provided Tricki without food but only water for 2 days.Tricki also had physical exercise when he used to play with the dogs in the yard. This cured Tricki's illness.
