Liberals were against the unlimited power of dynastic rulers. They wanted to protect the rights of individuals against governments. They were in favour of a representative, elected parliamentary government with an independent judiciary.Radicals favoured a government based on the majority of a country's population. Unlike liberals, they were against the privileges of great land owners and wealthy factory owners. They did not like the concept of concentration of property in the handsof a few.Conservatives were different from radicals and liberals. They believed that the past had to be respected and revolution or transformation had to bebrought about gradually

The view of Liberal regarding the formation of the government was that they wanted a nation which tolerated all faiths or religions. They strongly opposed the unlimited authority of dynastic kings. They were in favor of a representative, elected parliamentary form of government.

Unlike the Liberals, the Radicals opposed the rights of aristocratic landowners and rich factory owners. They were actually not against the presence of the notion of private property merely condemned the concentration of capital in the hands of a few. Therefore, they wanted a government based on the majority of a nation's people.

Conservatives, in the 18th century, opposed the idea of change. Therefore, they were happy with the existing government until the 19th century when they accepted that some changes were inevitable. Though they accepted the idea of change they were in favor of a slow process of change.
