  • Robert Clive, who was the first governor of the Bengal presidency made several changes one of which was the treaty of Allahabad signed with Shah Alam 2.
  • The real name of Shah Alam 2 was Ali Gohar and he was the 16the Mughal Emporer and was the son of the emperor Alamgir 2.
  • The treaty demanded the emperor to live in prison for 6 years and had to launch a Farmaan' which get Diwani rights to the East India company for Bihar, Bengal, and Orissa.
