Dadabhai Naroji was born on 4th September 1825 and passed away on 30 July 1917.He is also known as the Grand Old Man of India.As we all know that our India is a home for many poor people.India is home to over one-third poor people in the world.Dada Bhai naroji he himself did not use the word 'Poverty Line'.Poverty line is basically based on the cost of subsistence diet consisting of ,flour,dhal, vegetables and fruits,oil etc.Dada Bhai naroji came to conclusion on the subsistence costs based on poverty line that varied during his period (19th century).He was the first person estimation of poverty line in India but,concept of poverty line is first introduced by a "Working Group of Planning Commission" in 1962 & subsequently expanded in 1979 by a task force.After independence in 1947 August 15 (INDIA) the mass of the poverty line has increased alot due to over population, demand for goods and commodities.
