The first instance when the peasants achieved freedom from their fear was when they stood together in a large crowd in front of the court in support of Gandhi, who was still unknown to them. The whole village gathered there and the British officials had to come to the terms with Gandhi. And in turn, Gandhi helped controlling the angry crowd.Ultimately, they had to return the peasants' money. The peasants felt that even they could make the Britishers bow. Finally, a sense of braveness filled them and they decided not to again reluctantly follow the Britishers.
