ATP plays a critical role in the transport of macromolecules such as proteins and lipids into and out of the cell. The hydrolysis of ATP provides the required energy for active transport mechanisms to carry such molecules across a concentration gradient.

Answer:

ATP is also known as Adenosine Triphosphate.

This is one of the most important products manufactured by the cell functions and chemical coordination.

It is also known as the Energy Currency of the cell.

Uses:

  • It is used for producing energy to all cellular functions.
  • It is used for synthesis of many cell by products.

During Respiration, this is one of the end products formed.

Aerobic Condition leads to formation of 38 ATP while Anaerobic condition leads to formation of 2 ATP.

Hope it helped !!
