The strategic location of Delhi between Indus and Ganges made a crucial role in motivated the rulers to make it as a capital.

In ancient times the capital city is mainly built around rivers and water bodies, which was also in the case of India thus, Delhi being the northernmost navigable part of Yamuna and also has access to two of the most cultural centers across the globe one built around Sindhu and the other built around Ganga.

A variety of city around Ganga have been the capital for decades. Delhi was even far from invaders and terrorism as it remained far from the north-western provinces by miles and from north eastern by the great Himalayas thus making it safe for ruling
