The great fear was a period of panic and riot due to rumors that the kind would overthrow the 3rd estate. The peasants burned the feudal documents because the documents meant that the peasants could only ever be peasants and not work their way up in society. The system in which the poor became poorer and the rich became richer was brought to an end because the nobles gave up their rights and titles, which lead to a more balanced social structure in france.

The Great Fear was the phase when plot of famine was rumored in the France. It was the plot where nobles were thought to have hired many brigands which would march in to the village and destroy the harvest grown by the peasants along with their homes and would slash the population off.

Explanation:

This phase of Great Fear came into existence because of the two factors, one was the taxes levied on rich were less and on the poor were more, which created the economic status difference with a large gap. And other was, American Revolution aided with debt taken by France from British.

The rumor made the common poor peasants to unite and get armed, they then burned the documents of feudal importance known as the Terriers.
