In Greek and Latin works Chandragupta is also known by the names of “Sandracottos” or “Sandracottos” or “Andracottus”. Per Greek history, Megasthenes was the Greek ambassador sent by Seleucus Nicator in c. 302 B.C. to the court of the Indian king whom he and the Greek called "Sandrocottus".
