Green Revolution is a method introduced by M. S. Swaminatham. by this method Indian farmers are able to get better production in crops. like wheat. It is done by the using of HYV seeds and fertilisers

Green revolution was the advanvement in agriculture and production of crops and higher yields because of the introduction of new machines, use of effective fertilisers and other chemicals, introduction of high-yielding varieties, etc.
The pioneer of green revolution is Dr. M. S. Swaminathan. This revolution took place around 1960-80.


It helped the cricis of food in India in the following ways :

♦ High-yielding varieties of crops were used to increase production of crops.

♦ Use of effective fertilisers and other chemicals to reduce agricultural loses.

♦ Use of latest agriculturals implements and machines to save time and labour.

♦ Early maturing variety of crops were used so that farmers can grow more crops in one land at a perticular season.

♦ Use of disease and pest resistant variety of crops to increase production of crops.
