1. It has an adverse affect on the development of home industries , it creates a threat to the survival of infant industries at home in this competitive world. As due to unrestricted imports the upcoming industries in the country may be destroyed / collapsed.
2. For economic development the underdeveloped countries have to depend upon the developed ones, which sometimes leads to economic exploitation.
3. Too much of exports may lead to exhaust of natural resources of a country, which will cause economic downfall of the country in the longer run.
4. Shortage of goods may lead to inflation as sometimes the essential commodities required in a country and in short supply are also exported to earn foreign exchange.
