In short: The harsh reparation demands in the contract of Versailles ruined the countries economy lead to 40% unemployment and an hyper inflation which impoverished the middle class. This made room for several new political movements as the communists who were one of the strongest political powers outside the parliament before the NSDAP gained a lot of followers in the ranks of war veterans and workers through a very popular speaker named Adolf Hitler

On a side note it has to be mentioned that Germany only lost WWI because the USA financed and supplied Great Britain to maintain the war long enough to bleed the Germans out of resources so they had to give up, although they won almost all of their battles they lost the war to the economic giant the USA was.

This was the first time The USA interfered in other countries affairs when it was not directly involved and some believe the reason why America is now involved in global conflicts for over hundred years was the extremely successful anti German propaganda campaign that allowed the US to intervene in Europe in the first place and gave birth to the military industrial complex which rules the country ever since via interest groups known as the deep staate or the swamp as modern propaganda depicts it.
