(i) The Battle of Plassey was fought between Nawab Siraj-ud-Daullah and Robert Clive in 1757.

(ii) After this battle company made Mir Jafar the puppet Nawab but the real administration was in the hands of Company.

(iii) The company could do fortification easily after the battle of Plassey.

(iv) British won because Mir Jafar betrayed his Nawab without participating in the war so that he can be the next Nawab.

As a result of the battle of Plassey, the French were no longer a significant force in Bengal. In 1759, the British defeated a larger French garrison at Masulipatam, securing the Northern Circars.
