First Battle of panipat was take place in 1526. It was very important for Mughal empire. Mughal won taqt of Delhi sultanate and rule India after defeating lodhi kingdom( Afghans) Ibrahim Lodhi was killed and Babur became the King . Though Mughals was smalls in number but by their good war strategy they won the battle.
In 1556, second battle was taken place between Hemu (Hem Chandra Vikramaditya) and Akbar . Hemu had conquered the taqt of Delhi and Agra after defeating Mughals in Battle of Delhi. After listening the news Akbar with his troops marched to Panipat to reclaim Agra and Delhi. Again Mughals was smalls in numbers but by their war strategy they won second battle of panipat and reclaim their territory. Hemu was captured by Mughls and later Behram Khan Beheaded Hemu with his sword.
In early 1761 third battle of panipat was take place. This battle was between Duraani empire and Maratha empire. In this battle Mughals plays supportive role. They supported Durrani empire which was Led by Ahmad Shah Duraani. It was one of the largest battle take place in 18th century. Heavy casualities had been taken place. Maratha empire lost the third battle of panipat and Duraani empire which was supported by Mughals had won the battle.
