Newspapers played a very important and major role during the Indian Freedom Struggle.

Various newspapers were printed and distributed by the revolutionaries and freedom fighters and other organisations. These newspapers kept the fire for freedom ignited and never let it cool down which was very important for achieving the freedom struggle of our country.

These newspapers contained various articles that encouraged people and motivated them to fight for the freedom and unite to achieve it.

Back in those days newspapers were the main way through which people from one region were able to know about the happenings in the other parts of India. These were one of the ways to spread the word amongst the people of India.

Some of the important newspapers were:

● Bandematram

● Kesari

● Navjeevan

● Young India

● Hindustan

● The Hindu
