The significance of the Tennis Court Oath lies in the fact that it was the place where the representatives of the Third Estate proclaimed themselves to be the National Assembly. At this place, the representatives acknowledged that the though the king promised some significant legislative and constitutional reforms but rejected to disperse the Three Estates. Hence, this led to the conversion of the Estates into the National Assembly.
