The defeat of the English at the hands of Siraj-ud-Daula provoked the British to conspire to replace the young nawab. The company officials led by Robert Clive along with Mir Jafar, and other dissatisfied factions of the court colluded in this plan. This resulted in the BATTLE OF PLASSEY.

This battle was a competitive advantage to the English as compared to their European rivals..This battle also marked the beginning of political supremacy of the ENGLISH EAST INDIA COMPANY.
