Satyagraha. Satyagraha (Sanskrit: सत्याग्रह satyāgraha) is the idea of nonviolent resistance (fighting with peace) started by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (also known as "Mahatma" Gandhi). Gandhi used satyagraha in the Indian independence movement and also during his earlier struggle in South Africa.

At this time the tribals of seoni- under the leadership of Durga Shankar Mehta organized a march of 9-10 Km to cut grass from the government sandalwood garden to resister their anger against the British rule. This is known as the Jungle Satyagraha.
