when the author was leaving for study abroad his grandmother come to the station and see him off. it shows that she loved him very much. she didn't speak anything to him also she not revealed her emotions but she just kissed forehead of the author silently. the author retained that damp impression as the last sign of physical contact between them because he had a fear that his grandmother would die after his departure before he comes back after studying but it really does not happens and she welcome him by singing Homecomings.
