legacy of French revolution was that the people were divided into three estates.
first estate comprises of clergy, second estate comprises of nobility. these 2 estates were rich enough to pay taxes but we're exempted from paying. third estate comprises of artisans,labourers,peasants and common people these were poor and we're forced to pay the taxes like tithe, taile and many indirect taxes on things like salt.
