Triumph of the Surgery by James Herriot is story of a small dog named Tricki who is pampered and overfed by Mrs. Pumphrey, a rich mistress. He then falls seriously ill and Mrs. Pumphrey had to consult a veterinary surgeon.

Explanation:

• Mrs. Pumphrey loves her dog Tricki very much and she was unable to refuse Tricki anything he wanted to eat. Tricki was very  fond of eating chocolates and cream cakes which she used to give him.
• When Tricki had become very fat and his eyes are watery and red, Mrs Pumphrey had thought that Tricki was malnourished since he did not have any excitement and energy. So,  she started giving Trick cod liver oil, malt, and a bowl of Horlicks each night, apart from his regular meals so that Tricki could sleep well at night.
• Moreover, Mrs. Pumphrey did not exercise Trick properly except that she used to take him out for walks once in a while. This made Tricki situation worse and Trick started looking a bloated sausage
• Hence,  Tricki got unwell and Mrs. Pumphrey had to call Mr. Herriot the veterinary  for help.

• Tricki doesn't suffer from any sort of illness. The main cause of his illness is overfeeding. He takes the dog to his surgery. There the doctor keeps him on water diet and makes him physically active and treats without any medicine.
