Poem on the Role played by women in Indian freedom movement struggle:

Were Women behind their men Always in Good Deeds,

Never stepping back even in Wars and Brave Acts,

Be it Guerilla war of Bhima Bai Holkar on Colonel Malcom,

Or Rani Channama Rani, Hazrat Mahal in Showing Patriotism.

Rani Jindan Kaur, Rani Tace Bai, Rani Chauhan of True Royal Blood,

Not to forget Tapasvini Maharani or Baiza Bai, holding  Sword,

Great Revolt of 1857, They Led Troops to the Battlefield.

Patriot She was Rani Jhansi Lakshmi Bai fought Real hard.

Played their part Noble ladies in Political and Social Front,

Nightingale of India Sarojini Naidu, an Orator and Poet,

Proved Fantastic Lieutenant of Civil Disobedience Movement,

Good Madam Coma giving Money and Materials for protest.

Revolting Begum Hazrat Mahal of Awadh seized control of Lucknow.

Needed Poor, workers & Peasants, some Rational Reformers to lead,

Came Annie Besant’s  “New India” news and Indian Home Rule League,

Stood out Quit India heroine Aruna Asraf Ali in Hunger Strikes,

Running “Inquilab” Journal, Marching in Satyagraha Protests.

Shouted “Simon Go Back” Usha Mehta even as a Child lead,

Running Secret Congress Radio, A Risky Task She Dared,

During Quit India Flew high Indian Flag She Hoisted.

Kasturba Gandhi Filled in Mahatma’s Shoes in need,

Many a Women she Educated, Satyagraha she led.

Good Lady Kamala Nehru too filled in husband’s shoes,

No Tax Campaigns or Organizing meetings and Processions.

Ambassador Diplomat She was Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit,

She led Be It Non-Cooperation or Quit India movement.

Never letting us down, Bharatiya Nari showed her Might.

Know Them Patriots Supporters like Pandita Ramabai,

Anandi Gopal, Fatima Jinnah, Savitribai Phule, Basant Devi,

Swaran Kumari Ghosal, Ganguly Kadambini names are many.

Not only Gave us Food and Their Love at Home,

Got Us Independence Back to its Dear Home !
