Disadvantages of using HYV seeds ---

1) HYV seeds are costly, many farmers are not able to bear up large expenses.
2) They need more amount of irrigation facilities to give good yield.
3) They need a lot of fertilizers and pesticides, which again adds up to heavy expenses.
4) Using more amount of fertilizers, makes the soil acidic and polluted the environment.
5) It also kills the necessary bacteria present in the soil.
